In a groundbreaking event titled “Il Mare in Azione-Le nuove traiettorie del blu,” held at the Rome Chamber of Commerce on March 19, 2024, the focus was on unraveling the diverse opportunities and challenges entwining the blue economy, fisheries, and marine industries. The event, organized by Cluster Tecnologico Nazionale Economia del Mare BIG in collaboration with Assonautica Italiana and moderated by the esteemed Roberta Busatto of Economia del Mare Magazine, brought forth a symphony of insights and collaborations.
The initiative, supported by the Minister for Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Nello Musumeci, the discourse delved into the emerging trajectories of the blue economy, aiming to forge a unified Action Plan geared towards technological, research, and industrial growth in the maritime realm.
Noteworthy among the attendees was Alessandro Tiraborelli from REDINN, underscoring the commitment of REDINN to the advancement of sustainable maritime practices. Two pivotal projects, FishEUTrust and OXIPRO, also took the spotlight, shedding light on their transformative endeavors within the blue economy landscape.

On the other hand, OXIPRO stands out for its tech innovation, using computing and biotech to create eco-friendly consumer goods. Their emphasis on enzymatic processes aims to turn fish waste into nutritious foods, signaling a shift towards sustainability and innovation in the marine industry.
